Cursed mode
Last checked 2026-11-03
Cursed mode is not a palette swap. Saves need Sybil’s second Danger notch. Prices go up, sell value drops to 20 percent, and several recruits gain a toll: six toothpastes for Joel, four Cleanerex for Papineau, a purchased key for Audrey.
Taxes, moved objects, longer chases
Apartment 37 can turn the mode on directly, and some tutorial lines are skipped. Enemy health and attack rise by a band the wiki describes as about 25 to 50 percent, or by added phases, depending on the creature. I will not publish one multiplier for the whole bestiary. Clint, Antoine, the Exalted Four, and others gain stages or adds. That list is the reason a normal-mode boss video lies to a Cursed file.
Floor 1’s side halls become dead ends and a winged enemy appears. The crafting kit moves from apartment 37’s main room into the bathroom. Lockpicks start with two free uses instead of four. Trash searches are worse. Weapons break more easily. Cooking heals less. The candy machine holds 20 pieces with a cap of five stat candies.
Leigh’s pistol costs $100 after her fight, she steals from the fridge each day, and the chase on Floor 2 runs longer. Uranus moves to the arthropod apartment and wants the Clyde, Jennifer, and Auguste keys. The basement wants Antoine before every area opens. Papineau’s four Cleanerex and Joel’s six tubes are recruit gates, not shop trivia.
Sybil’s organs recover in 8 hours instead of 32. That is a boss-timer change, not a new identity. I am not writing a cursed ending list. The thirteen endings still live on one page. The mode changes the walk there.
Questions
How do you turn Cursed mode on?
From apartment 37, according to the gameplay page.
Does it change the ending count?
No. It changes costs, layouts, and some fights on the way to the same endings list.
