Rat Child

Last checked 2026-11-03

The Rat Child, also searched as the rat baby, is the creature in the mouth on the wall of apartment 13. Say no to the mouth, leave, and come back. The rescue costs one of Sam’s arms, and the wiki says the arm does not return.

Feed it, play with it, then it can fight

After the rescue it lives in apartment 33. Feeding and playing raise it until it is old enough to join. Starting row: level 1, 50 HP, 5 attack. Named skills are Bite, Copy Dad, Prowl, Pounce, and Predator Snarl. Most other skills, the page says, come from interactions with companions rather than from a level-up table. I will not invent the interaction matrix.

Rat Child and the older “Rat Baby” search are the same entity on the wiki I am using. I am not building a second page for the nickname. A separate Rat King exists as a boss in the Floor 1 maze. That king is not this child. People who mix them will walk the labyrinth looking for a feeding bowl.

The arm is the reason the choice is famous. Sam’s sheet records it as permanent. There is no prosthetic on the pages I checked, so I will not hint at one.

If you say yes to the mouth, you are on a different branch. The recruit line I can defend is the “no, leave, return, give the arm” sequence. Anything softer is a different article than the one I read.

Copy Dad is the skill that makes the child a mirror of Sam, which is why the lost arm is not only a story flag. Prowl, Pounce, and Predator Snarl are the names on the sheet. I stop at the names.

Questions

Do you have to lose an arm?

Yes, if you want the rescue the wiki describes. The loss is permanent.

Is the Rat King the same character?

No. The Rat King is a boss in the Floor 1 labyrinth.
